David Lawrence, AIF®, RFC®, ChFE® President of The Efficient Practice, has over twenty-four years experience in the financial services profession and 38+ years of business experience, including successful ownership of six different businesses during that time. His ownership of those businesses involved all aspects of business operations, including substantial experience in hiring and managing employees.
He spent 18 years with a major financial planning firm as a Senior Financial Advisor, Training Manager and District Manager. He has also worked for two large independent financial planning and asset management companies in senior management positions. In his consulting practice, Mr. Lawrence has assisted dozens of financial service firms throughout the United States to achieve higher levels of efficiency and profitability.
One of the most respected efficiency experts in America, Mr. Lawrence has been recognized for his efforts by numerous organizations such as The U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD), The Volunteer Center for the United Way, The Internal Revenue Service, The Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), The International Association for Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC), The National Displaced Homemaker Network and The Financial Planning Association (FPA), to name a few. He has been frequently quoted by such national publications as Barron's, Financial Planning Interactive, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal Online among others. He has also made frequent appearances on NBC and FOX television affiliates. He is a sought after public speaker on a variety of financial and technical topics. He is a Past-President of the Financial Planning Association of Tampa Bay and is active in that organization on a national level. Mr. Lawrence is a graduate of The University of South Florida in Tampa, with a double undergraduate and Master's degrees. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville for his Doctoral studies. He holds the coveted designations Registered Financial Consultant™ and Accredited Investment Fiduciary™. Conversant in five languages, David currently writes a monthly column on business efficiency for Financial Advisor Magazine (www.FA-Mag.com). He is a Past-Chair of the FPA’s National Leadership Council. He is currently the President of David Lawrence and Associates, a professional business efficiency consulting firm, based out of Tampa Bay, Florida with clients all across the United States and Canada . David Lawrence and Associates also publishes a monthly subscription newsletter, The Efficient Practice. Mr. Lawrence serves on the Financial Engineering Institute's Advisory Board.
